United States-Japan Intercultural Biz Nite (E-US01)



Purpose:

  • Discuss and learn about American culture, communication and working style online - whilst enjoying the local food and drink

  • Understand key differences and closeness with Japan - and discuss how to do diverse teamwork between the two countries - mixing the best of both.

  • Enjoy the history, culture, arts, sports and innovation of America and its relations with Japan





Join our US-Japan Biz Nite for an interactive evening of bilingual discussion and networking. Our theme is USA East Coast, and our speaker Kei Sakaguchi, the Director for Japan at Virginia Economic Development Partnership, will talk a little about Virginia culture, lifestyle and business opportunities. Also we’ll have a team quiz on “How well do you know modern US culture?” and discussion on the myths and realities of US business culture, and typical similarities and differences with Japan. Especially what we like about each others’ cultures, and how to bridge any gaps in communication and leadership styles. It’s first time free. More info here:

Speaker profile

Kei Sakaguchi is Director for Japan at Virginia Economic Development Partnership, and will talk a little about Virginia culture, lifestyle and business opportunities.



Kei is a communications and External Affairs executive with over 20 years of experience at Japanese and US global companies, with strong cross-cultural and bilingual skills. He previously served as the country representative for Japan for Eurasia Group, the world's leading political risk advisory and consulting firm. And he is President of FCC (Forum for Corporate Communications)
